Collection: Tenugui - Japanese towel

THE tenugui is a Japanese towel made of 100% cotton, very pleasant to the touch. It can be used to dry your hands, wipe your forehead, as a headband or simply as decoration.

Ours are decorated with famous prints by the Japanese artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi , a great master of 19th century woodblock prints, along with Katsushika Hokusai , best known for his Wave and Mount Fuji, as well as Utagawa Hiroshige , famous for his poetic landscapes and travel scenes in Japan.

Some napkins also pay homage to older works such as the famous “Chôjû-giga” (Or Scrolls of Caricatured Animals ), considered one of the first manga in history, attributed to the monk Toba Sojo (鳥羽僧正).

His works are steeped in Japanese folklore: tales, legends and myths come together to form frightening, intriguing or very humorous frescoes!
Here, the cats form letters from the Japanese alphabet (hiragana), forming a sort of rebus!

It's an unusual, functional and very original gift for any lover of Japanese culture or unusual fashion!
