What is an Obi?
The obi is a wide, traditional Japanese sash worn with the kimono, particularly during ceremonies and formal events. A central element of Japanese dress, it is distinguished by the richness of its patterns, the fineness of its weave, and the quality of its threads, often embellished with gold.
By reusing obi scraps , we give a second life to these precious textiles, while respecting their cultural and artisanal value.
The chrysanthemum (Kiku) motif in gold and ivory
This cap is distinguished by a stylized chrysanthemum (kiku) motif , presented in gold and ivory tones, with soft, radiating lines reminiscent of unfurled petals. The gold threads subtly capture the light, highlighting the floral structure of the motif and the refined weave.
In Japan, the chrysanthemum is a major symbol: it represents longevity , nobility , and perfection . The quintessential imperial flower, the kiku is associated with elegance, balance, and continuity. Worn on this cap, it lends a sophisticated, timeless, and calming look, ideal for a confident yet refined style.
