What is an Obi?

The obi is a wide traditional Japanese belt worn with the kimono, especially during ceremonies and formal events. A central element of Japanese clothing, it is distinguished by the richness of its patterns, the fineness of its weaving, and the quality of its threads, often enhanced with gilding.
By reusing obi scraps, we give a second life to these precious textiles, while respecting their cultural and artisanal value.

The gold and ivory chrysanthemum (Kiku) pattern
